Terms of use
Last updated: 2026-05-23. This page is written in plain language. By using caspiantools.com you accept these terms.
Who can use it
Caspian Tools is available to anyone aged 16 or over with a valid email address. If you are using it on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to do so on its behalf.
Your account
Keep your sign-in credentials safe. Anything done through your account is your responsibility. If you suspect unauthorised access, contact us immediately at privacy@caspiantools.com.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Caspian Tools to:
- Store, transmit, or share content that is unlawful where you or your team are based.
- Facilitate gambling, interest-bearing financial products, alcohol or illicit substance trade, or content that degrades human dignity.
- Attempt to interfere with the service, probe for vulnerabilities outside our security policy, or use it to attack third parties.
- Resell, sublicense, or repackage the service.
- Train machine-learning models on other workspaces' data via scraping or other unauthorised access.
We may suspend or close accounts that violate these limits. We will tell you why and give you a way to export your data unless doing so would compromise an investigation.
Your data is yours
You retain ownership of the tasks, notes, attachments, and other content you upload. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, transmit, back up, and display this content solely to operate the service for you and the workspaces you share with.
We do not use your content to train models. We do not look at your content except as necessary to operate the service, respond to a verified legal request, or address a specific safety or abuse report you or someone affected has raised.
Pricing and payment
The service is free during early access. We will notify users in advance — through the in-app notifications bell and a release-note entry on the changelog page — before introducing any paid tier. Continued use after a paid tier is introduced will only ever require an explicit opt-in; we will not enrol you in a paid plan automatically.
Service availability and warranty
We aim for high availability but make no specific uptime guarantee while the product is in early access. The service is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Back up anything you cannot afford to lose. The Caspian-Taskmaster and Caspian-Notes VS Code extensions store your data locally and provide a natural backup of everything you sync to the cloud.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, lost profits, lost data, or business interruption arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, while the service is free, means zero.
Termination
You can close your account at any time by emailing privacy@caspiantools.com. We can close yours if you breach these terms or if the service is being shut down. Either way, you keep the right to export your data on request.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. Substantive changes are announced on the changelog and via in-app notification. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Disputes will be heard in the courts of England & Wales, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
